About me:
Hello, I’m Deepa, a counsellor hailing from Mumbai. I offer 1-1 virtual counselling sessions. At heart I am a quiet, sensitive, and curious individual. I practise from an eclectic approach, drawing from different schools of thought with the purpose of suggesting what works best for the concerns and challenges experienced by the client.

I hope to create a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can explore, discover, and nurture your authentic self.

FAQS

Top Queries on Life Coaching

Why did you choose to be a counselor?

I chose to be a counsellor because I am drawn to understanding people’s experiences - what led them to be who they are and what drives them to be who they want to be.

What are the possible outcomes that may be experienced after your first session?

I hope that we can collaboratively decide your journey of therapy and its outcomes, session by session.

What would you tell a client who is thinking about seeking counseling?

I know it can be a tricky decision sometimes, especially if you’re giving it a go for the first time. And I’m sure there will be a lot of questions and apprehensions. You can always reach out for a free discovery call to most counsellors - to clarify your doubts, get to know them and their approach a bit more and see if you’ll be a good fit with them

What do you think is the most common misconception about counseling?

I think the one misconception that took me a while to register was that once I start counselling, the counsellor will resolve my challenges. It can be quite subtle, because we approach counsellors when we’re in the thick of it and we want to be rescued from our pain, but I believe it takes self-reflection, exploration, trialling, practising, to grow through challenges.

What are some of your strengths as a counselor that you value and appreciate?

My Curiosity - my Love of learning - my Persistence

How do you handle situations where a client is struggling to make progress?

I check whether and how I might be contributing to the struggle. I reflect on the sessions and seek support via supervision if needed.

Do you think your counseling style is culture-neutral or dynamic/customized to different cultures?

I make an effort to be respectful and sensitive to the experience of the client and the culture they come from.

How do you ensure confidentiality and trust with your clients?

I ensure that everything that is discussed and the client’s identity remains confidential.

How do you determine the progression of your session with clients?

I dynamically adjust the progression of the sessions to best support each client's journey toward their unique goals and aspirations.
